  1. Sat.:pre-nescac semi’s. My take on the 19 at-large’s (pool C)even with lots of BBall in front of us. Upsets of high conference seeds Hartwick, St Joe’s(L.I.), John Carroll, Concordia,(Wisc.),Grinnell have changed the landscape because there new teams to consider. Also several teams have played themselves out of it- among them Augustana (beat by 30!); Marietta (9 L’s); Wabash,; Ramapo (double OT L.)and Guilford, and Stevens. Don’t see any in this second group getting a bid.
Of the 1st group Hartwick, St.Joe’s and Concordia all have strong regional rankings so they’re in the “19”. From the nescac, besides the auto-bid there will be two others(from Middlebury, Amherst & Wesleyan). ODAC likely to get only one if Va.Wes. and R-Macon hold form. That leaves 13. LEC is tighter than a dead-heat. Two at larges for sure. ASC should have oe. Does the UAA get one or two? I’d opt for one(either NYU or Emory who both have to play), because think the SUNYAC loser gets in. WIAC probably will get two with Pointers still in consideration because of their RR. From CCIW there’s only one, with Ill.Wes.’s L to Wheaton and 2 L’s to No.Central a deal sealer. In OAC if Capital wins they might get only bid. If they lose it brings John Carroll back onto the bubble. I’ll stick with one. Think NCAC will get one if Wooster turns back Denison, maybe two if Denison upsets again. Ohio Wes. @7 L’s at best on bubble.
MIAC loser goes. Out west Claremont & Whitworth are in regardless. Think Pomona, and Puget have earned their way in. In this scenario, maybe two spots are open, and certainly my thoughts are open to discussion, with a lot of teams ‘antsy’ right now. The bubblers are Keene, WPI (who must reach newmac title game at least), Ohio Wes.; John carroll, Whitman, & Whittier. Of those I’d opt for Keene St., and WPI because of their ‘W’s vs. Midd & MIT, and there may be a couple of games that I haven’t called right, but that’s how I get to 19. Looking forward to beating Wesleyan today, Amherst tomorrow and the Hoopsville discussion tomorrow nite. Be well. Clubbo.
