The Wooster Scots are first on the floor to begin practice at the renovated Salem Civic Center. A new floor awaits the teams, which was first used during the Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament.
New scoreboards, new floor, new end zone backdrops and blue, blue, blue everywhere.
One of the Wooster players comments that they are surprised there is no center-court scoreboard hanging from the rafters. Steve Moore stands and center court taking some notes…88:10 left on the clock.
Practices today are precisely 90 minutes for each team. No more, but less if they choose. Amherst will be next. More from Salem coming up.
Yep, it’s much nicer in here. Enjoying the new seats. Watching Amherst practice right now — a team I’ve seen many times now.
Also, for football fans, the grass has been removed from Salem Stadium and the artificial turf is coming.
Virginia Wesleyan 28 minutes into their practice. Brandon Adair stepped out of the practice for about ten minutes. As I pulled my computer out of it’s case, Dave Macedo pointed up to the newly printed Virginia Wesleyan – 2006 Championship banner and added to his team, “hey guys, remember that.”
Hard to think they could forget it.
Practices done. It’s always interesting to see other teams attempt to emulate with their scout team what they think the other team’s offense looks like.
Down time for just a few…before we head off to the Wyndham Hotel for Hoopsville at the Final Four.
Pat, if you read this before tonight’s games… do you think you can ask whoever is taking pictures (I think it’s been Ryan in the past) to take a few pictures of the Civic Center of what’s been updated if he gets a chance? I’m sure that we’ll be able to see some of the shots in the background and such, but it would be neat to be able to see some before and after pics too!
Yeah I can do that. I was thinking that when I went through some of my F4 photos from last year.
