I pride myself in being objective, but yesterday, I just couldn’t help myself.
I was broadcasting Coast Guard-Trinity from high atop courtside, and in the excitement of the moment, during one timeout, I started bopping up and down, like a jumping bean. My broadcast partner (a Coast Guard lieutenant) teased me about it, as did the columnist for one of the local papers, but I didn’t really care.
If you’re a fan, that’s what today is all about. If you’re going to a game, enjoy the madness. If you’re following one of the games today at home, you can do it too (so what if you’ll look a little silly).
I’m in charge of the scoreboard today, and I’ll be trying to file reports here from time to time, while prepping for my next game. If you wanna chime in on what you see or hear, feel free to do so here.
1st game underway
CNJ women lead Bridgewater (Va), 11-4 early…
Halftime there
CNJ 31, Bridgewater 23
An interesting sectional with two amazing centers in CNJ’s Hillary Klimowicz and Mary Washington’s Liz Hickey. Klimowicz has five blocks in first half, exactly what you’d expect from someone who was A-10 rookie of the yr two years ago…
And CNJ wins, 65-52…
Anyone with tidbits on any game, feel free to put em here…
Carleton is winning 19-16 with 7:19 remaining in the first half.
37-16 bowdoin over curry OY VEY
very questionable charging call on the Blu golds has given the Knights a 25-20 edge. 4:08 remaining in the half.
eau claire came charging out. Of the gates following a carleton timeout to pull within one… And I need ear plugs now after a very loud whistle two feet away. Eau Claire is using fast breaks to set the pace they are now on an eight-zero run.
looks like Eau Claire is taking a 8-0 run into the locker room. I am trying to get confirmation.
9-0 it is.
Good game here, Scranton got off to an early lead but Elms forced a couple turnovers with the press and it’s been back and forth ever since. 32-30 Elms at the break.
Eau Claire ramps the run to 15 unanswered forcing a clock violation and many desperate shots by Carleton. 35-25 16:27
at the peak Eau Claire’s run stood at 21-7. 42-34 12:38
first great comeback of the day. Brandeis rallies from 15 down to beat Southern Maine, 74-71.

Ruths has 21 and Wash U leads Wooster 46-38. 13:00 left, second half.
Wooster has a few too many turnovers, and Cooper only has 6, but not as far down as I might have expected with how sloppy they have been at times.
Point leads 43-39, 46-44 Wash U leads Wooster, LU leads Wheaton 42-37
All of a sudden, it’s 46-44 Wash U as James Cooper has hit four straight three pointers! Wow, we are going to miss him in our lineup next season.
