  1. Clutch free throw shooting and tight defense powered #1 Wittenberg past a game Allegheny team today. 6’8″ wing Dane Borchers led Witt with 29. Gheny shot over 50% from the field in ringing up 35 first-half points against the nation’s #1 defensive team. The lead grew to as many as 13 points early in the 2nd, but then the Tigers put on the defensive clamps, holding the Gators to just 21 points in the 2nd period. A great game from Meadville, PA. Witt improves to 16-1, while Allegheny falls to 6-10.

  2. Allegheny scores only 1 FG in the final 7 minutes of the game and that FG came as time was expiring, Wittenberg allowing the Gators to score.

Steffes was the key FT shooter down the stretch.

  3. No. 9 Augustana has rallied from a 22-11 (I believe that’s what they said) deficit and is tied with No. 13 North Central at 26 late in the first half.

  4. After all that, Cortland had a shot at the buzzer to tie the game that hit off the back rim, no good. Final: Oswego State 59, Cortland State 56.

Augustana has just taken a 50-49 lead on North Central.

  5. Kudos to Lawrence, now the last of the NCAA men’s unbeatens after 3 of the schools in the other divisions (one based in North Carolina, one in western Pa. and one representing a state way down south) all lost today…
