Yeah, lots to talk about. We’ve already heard Pat Coleman a lot on this bracket in an interview with Brad Bankston, the football committee chair, so it’s Keith McMillan’s turn to weigh in on the Field of 32 in the Around the Nation Podcast.

And for all involved, where are the great first-round games in this bracket? Who is likely to pull off an upset? Who could give Hobart fits? Or Concordia-Chicago? Or Linfield? What are some of the great stories from Week 11 that led to teams getting into the playoffs, or getting better seeding? Plus, what were the great rivalry games?

Keith and Pat talk about that and more in this week’s Around the Nation Podcast, sponsored by the City of Salem, hosts of Stagg Bowl XL. Tickets on sale now!

  1. I think the playoff bracket looks really good! I obviously think there is a strong argument for Bridgewater State not being in the playoffs, especially the fact they never made it to their championship game!! You should blame the conference format of the conference championship game for Bridgewater not making the playoffs. Even if Moorhead did’nt make the playoffs and either wheaton or Platteville got in i would have been fine with that. I just don’t agree that you can honor a team that did’nt have to play an extra game like salve regina had to play. Other than Bridgewater State, every team deserved their way into the field. It should be an awesome playoffs and can’t wait!!

  2. Could someone please explain why Mount isn’t the #1 overall seed. No disrepect to Linfield who played a very tough schedule, but Mount played 2 playoff teams and a couple other quality teams in Otterbein & BW. They outscored opponents 517-45 or an average score of 51.7-4.5. Staggering numbers as usual…clearly numbers that should lead to the #1 overall seed. Also, I feel UMHB should be the 2nd and Linfield 3rd. Just my opinion, but I really wanted to see a Mount-UMBH National Championship. Oh well.
