Triple Take: Picking the semifinals

Look,
There isn’t a whole lot of intro needed here. We have four phenomenal teams left from a crop of 239. Two will punch tickets to Salem on Saturday, one in sunny Belton, Texas, the other in chilly Alliance, Ohio. And believe it or not, we have unanimity among the trio who’s been forecasting each playoff weekend for you: columnist Ryan Tipps, columnist/managing editor Keith McMillan and publisher Pat Coleman.

After the guys have at it, feel free to add your own picks below. Those brave enough win the opportunity to gloat later.

Wisconsin-Whitewater (12-1) at Mary Hardin-Baylor (12-1)
Ryan’s take: The phrase “bruised and battered” means something different to Mary Hardin-Baylor than it does to other teams. Several times this year, it has seemed the Crusaders were poised to stumble under excessive injuries. Yet instead of tip-toeing through the troubles, they ran past them at full speed, helped by the half-dozen guys who have been able to pick up an average of 5 yards or more per carry. Then again, UW-Whitewater, no slouches on offense, will also likely be the stingiest defense UMHB has lined up against this year. A difference of only 10 yards per game, statistically, separates these two offenses. Both teams have been here before — in terms of time, place and stakes. What could hinder Whitewater is an inability to stay at full throttle for the full 60 minutes, allowing UMHB to pull away after the break.
Mary Hardin-Baylor 38, UW-Whitewater 24

Keith’s take: Usually I’m the long-winded, overly analytical one, but I’ll keep my reasoning simple in this toss-up. I’m making the stretch from picking UMHB to be upset in the first round to picking them to get to Salem, basically based on how they’ve played the past two weeks against Wesley and W&J. They’ve been able to mix the pass in with the always-potent running game, and generate problems on defense. They demolished the Presidents, 63-7, and should be as confident as they have been all season; UW-Whitewater had to battle to get past Wartburg. Playing well, playing at home and playing to keep dreams of the school’s first championship alive, I go:
Mary Hardin-Baylor 28, UW-Whitewater 21

Pat’s take: My concern is that another potent running offense will cause the Warhawks to break rather than just bend. If UMHB is in field goal range it won’t hesitate to take the points, which may have been Willamette’s downfall two weeks ago. The Crusader defense will do a better job early in the game than Willamette did against UWW, plus, I’m still worried about quarterback Jeff Donovan, who is 12-for-29 passing since getting injured at halftime of the second-round game.
Mary Hardin-Baylor 31, UW-Whitewater 20

Wheaton (11-2) at Mount Union (13-0)
Ryan’s take: The Thunder struck hard against the trio of Indiana playoff teams, but Ohio will undoubtedly be a different beast for them. Wheaton is best through the middle of a game: The second and third quarters are their prime times for putting up points and keeping pressure on teams, both of which are critical if the men want any chance of beating the Mount Union machine. For the Thunder, slowing Nate Kmic and getting pressure on Greg Micheli are possible. But is shutting down the receiving corps? That will be the biggest key to Wheaton’s chances in Alliance, and I’m not entirely convinced the team will deliver. Wheaton gives up, on average, 228 yards per game against the pass, but to its credit the team has held its previous two (pass-heavy) playoff opponents to fewer than their averages. At this point in the season, Wheaton is accelerating down the stretch toward perfection — and perfection is exactly what will be needed from them Saturday.
Mount Union 41, Wheaton 17

Keith’s take: I love the run Wheaton is on, I love that they’ve been able to play great defense when needed and outscore teams when that’s been the recipe. Pete Ittersagen is a defensive stud, the offense is mixing the run and the pass well, and the Thunder is playing inspired. That said, we’ve seen hardly the chink in the armor necessary for me to believe Mount Union is going down on Saturday. There are flaws, but they remain few, and I don’t see the Purple Raiders playing a sloppy, turnover-plagued game with Greg Micheli at the controls. It might get dicey at times, it might not be easy, but it will lead to another Purple Saturday in Salem.
Mount Union 35, Wheaton 17

Pat’s take: I just don’t see Wheaton having the firepower to stay with Mount Union, not if Rocky Gingg can’t go at running back. Even if Pete Ittersagen keeps Cecil Shorts in check, it’s a tough task for Wheaton to keep the Purple Raiders’ other offensive pieces contained if the offense doesn’t help by keeping them off the field. In the end, this game looks a lot like last week’s Mount Union game, close for a while with the Purple Raiders pulling away. And I think Nate Kmic gets the all-time NCAA rushing record in the process.
Mount Union 45, Wheaton 14

  1. wow. no one picked uww. im a little suprised. i think uww is still the team to beat, even for muc.
uww-28-umhb-24. this game will go right down to the wire.
muc-42-Wheaton 17. half time.. muc 21-wheaton 10..it will be much closer than the score,

  2. As a coach I would relish the idea of game planning against a one dimensional team. UWW puts eight in the box and plays football. Stopping the run is nothing more than smash mouth football in the trenches. I know all the UMHB fans will say everybody has tried this all year and failed. I think UWW has the size, strength and speed to pull it off. UWW 24 – UMHB 17.

Mount to big, fast, and strong. Best football coach in all of America. Cortland played as near a perfect game as I’ve seen and it still wasn’t enough. Keith is right Mount won’t play sloppy. Mount 49-14.

  3. I think the key UMHB this year is that they are not as one dimensional. They have a great group of receivers and a quarterback who is playing at a high level.

I guess the one question I would have about them would be, what if they get down by a couple scores and get in a situation where they have to throw. They really haven’t been in that situation much except for Southern Oregon. And I don’t see UWW running away from them unless they start turning the ball over.

  4. They are expecting 25-35 MPH winds in Belton tomorrow. It could come down to who has the wind in the fourth quarter. UMHB’s kicker can kick it long. Whoever gets down and has to pass may be in for a long game.

  5. Hmmm. Interesting. I know that UMHB will be at home for the their first ever National semi-final(advantage UMHB) The UMHB QB seems to be playing better than UWW’s the last 2-3 weeks(advantage UMHB) The warhawks can’t focus on any one RB since UMHB has used 5-6 maybe more since QD went down with an injury(advantage UMHB) Defense——–both been playing good but UMHB has demolished 2 seemingly very good teams(#7 Wesley and #18 W&J)——–I think UMHB pulls this one out. If UMHB’s defense is taking care of UWW’s offense like they did Wesley and W&J, this game is over for UWW———-if UMHB can stuff UWW’s running game, I think you have to give UMHB the edge. I also feel that UMHB has a little better speed than UWW———-BUT, we will see tomorrow at high noon. Show down at Belton ISD stadium———–figures to be a good one—————–who knows, might be a barn burner————-for all you northerners—————-that means high scoring game.

  6. Might I mention, UMHB has given up 14 yards rushing total in the last 2 games combined————–19 against Wesley and (-5) against W&J. They have also collected 13 sacks in 2 games. If UWW had a little trouble with Wartburg(at least according to Keith) they will have a lot more with UMHB. I don’t see UMHB giving this one away. Therefore my predictions:

    UMHB—-37
    UWW—21

    MUC–38
    Wheaton–17

  7. I just wanted to say, regardless of whether Mount Union wins tomorrow or not, a big congratulations to Nate Kmic and Greg Micheli on two very fine DIII careers. Tomorrow will be their last home game as R24aider and purplephyco mentioned. They have represented Mount Union with honor and with integrity. The upside of Nate’s leaving is that it opens up the door for other young men, just as it was opened for Nate. I have to say that I hope he does find a way to get the all time NCAA rushing record. Greg Micheli has been great to watch. He has stepped it up and delivered as a great passer, runner, and overall game manager. I know Greg and Nate want their last game as players to be in Salem – and I hope they get it.

Of course I favor the Purple Raiders, but I don’t believe the success of this Wheaton team to be by accident. They will come in hungry, this I’m sure of. Like UMHB, they want to get past their nemesis and show they are among the very elite in the nation. The MUC team I believe will be an emotional bunch and a good bit fired up..So yet again, the first 5 to 10 minutes are going to the key…Cortland did a fine job last week in that time frame, and at the end of the first half, that game was still very much undecided. I’m going to wait and see what happens on the field and let others take the glory for predicting. I don’t care if MUC wins by 30 or by 1…I just want to see them in Salem again.

The UWW-UMHB game is just an awesome matchup. The Warhawks want to defend their title, and show that they are still the team to beat, and most of this year they have played like it ( at least I think so.) UMHB has been knocking on the door to Salem, and it’s crazy that once again they will have to go thru the Warhawks if they want to get to the dance. This time, they get to try and do it at home in front of their fans ( who i know want it bad!) , and I have to believe that they are going to come out guns blazing. I look for this game to start out fast on both sides. If one team isn’t ready for it, they could get down early. f they are both prepared for it, we could really have a prize fight on our hands. If UWW is able to show the type of composure and maturity in TX they showed last year in Salem, they will stand a good chance. Never easy playing away in the semis. Again, I can’t call it. A lot of x-factors – and as always, whoever executes best will come out. UMHB is going to try and pound the ball down UWW’s throat I think. IF UWW can stop it, we have ourselves a ballgame.

Great luck to everyone – I’ll be watching online and thanks to everyone who makes it possible for us to see the games on the net. It is greatly appreciated.
Get ready to see those tickets punched….Salem awaits.

  8. Kind of surprised all three guys took MHB over Whitewater. I kind of figure that game is basically a “pick-em”. I know MHB has looked great, but Whitewater isn’t a W&J or a Wesley. The Crusaders get a serious step up in competition tomorrow.

The MUC/Wheaton spread looks about right. The key on whether it’s a good game or not will depend on Wheaton’s ability to tackle Kmic on first contact.

Good luck and safe travels to all.

  9. In reading the selections of the experts, I am thankful for two things:

    1. We don’t have to read continual posts from Cru faithful about the lack of “love” for the Cru.

    2. These predictions have nothing at all to do with what will actually happen on the field tomorrow.

    UWW 20
    UMHB 17

    MUC 45
    WHEATON 14

  10. I was also surprised we all went UMHB, remember we don’t consult before I compile it.

I’m sure we could all see UWW winning too, just going with what makes sense given the toss-up scenario.

A lot of wise posts today, good work.

And of course the game will be settled on the field, gotta love that.

  11. You said it Keith————–let’s get ready to rumble. Winds expected—20-30 miles/hr——————–that’s gotta suck for any kind of passing game unless the QB’s have a cannon for an arm, BUT, at least it’s not going to be like minus 30 degrees or anything like that.

  12. Looks like the Thunder has an uphill battle tomorrow.
Mount Union is definitely the 14,000ft peak of our playoff climb this year, but I think Wheaton may be the surprise in Salem.

    Wheaton – 28
    Mt Union – 21

  13. CaptCru—

    From your post—

Might I mention, UMHB has given up 14 yards rushing total in the last 2 games combined————–19 against Wesley and (-5) against W&J. They have also collected 13 sacks in 2 games.

Some of the reason that UMHB rushing totals have been so low has been because of those sacks, which count against a team’s rushing yardage. Plus, they got big leads in both games which put the Wolverines and Presidents in passing mode. Jackson did average nearly six yards a carry for Wesley.

Not to say they haven’t done a great job against the run. They have, just felt those points needed to be considered.

  14. I want to say kudos to the 4 teams in the playoff. I know we will see some down in the trenches from UMHB vs UWW. You have to admire UMHB win or lose for their efforts. Lose your star running back on the first play of the first game. Lose your second string running back and have to convert a defensive player to running back was great adversity and they have come through it with flying colors. Extreme kudos to the coaches for managing and coaching week after week and keeping the players motivated. I have a gut feeling this is UMHB year to win it all. As for the MUC vs Wheaton it will be a closer game than most are predicting. Hopefully the weather will be half as great as it will be in TX 65 degrees and climbing. UMHB 35 UWW 27 MUC 28 Wheaton 21.

  15. I guess for Wheaton to win they would have to keep Mount to around 21 points or so, but I just can’t see it happening. I think IF Wheaton is to win this game, it’s going to be more of a 38-35 type game. I hope that Wheaton gives Mount all they can handle tomorrow, because that bodes well for next week if Mount wins tomorrow.

  16. As usual, UMHB has yet to face a team like UWW. They may beat them, but they were very confident last year and UWW beat them up, TWICE. I think UWW is weaker than last year, but is still more than a match for a team that hasn’t seen a truly tough team all year.

    Go Hawks!

    MUC wins easily, as always.

  17. It’s all perspective I guess. I’m not sure UWW, MUC, Wheaton, or UMHB have played teams like they are going to play tomorrow.

I really believe that if Hardin Simmons would have won in the first round against UMHB, they would be in the Stagg Bowl. No doubt. UMHB might have played a lot of weak teams, but so did UWW, MUC, and Wheaton. It’s the nature of the league.

In the regular season, who did UWW face that was any good? Stevens Point (lost by one) or Eau Claire (won by two). The three point win against Williamette was impressive, sure. But everybody else?

UMHB crushed all the teams it was supposed to crush (even without a real running back for some games) and broke Hardin Simmons heart. Nobody (including the UMHB faithful) was prepared for what UMHB did to Wesley. The Cru is just a different team today than they were even 3 weeks ago.

Both UWW and UMHB know what they are playing against tomorrow. It’s a shame the national sports shows (ESPN) doesn’t support D3 more than it does. If this was a D1 matchup, it’d be billed as a classic matchup.

Anything is possible tomorrow. UMHB could win by 50. UWW could win by 50. It could come down to a field goal. It’s what makes D3 football so much fun.

  18. I’ve just arrived in Alliance for tomorrow’s game. Weather is cold and flurries… that won’t bother either team.

I met a former Wheaton player and his father in the lobby, very nice people. I believe its going to be a great game with MUC pulling away late. Should be fun broadcasting it for this website.

I’m off to meet hscoach and some of the guys at a place they used to call Brenda’s. If any Wheaton fans are in town, ask someone where this place is.. I believe its address is 750 State St. Come by and say hello. wesleydad is rumored to be in town also… coming from PA. For those of us without a dog in the fight tomorrow… meetings like this make D3football special.

  19. also:

You can file this under useless info:

Wheaton arrived here this morning.. they are staying in Canton. I never played here, so I don’t know if this is normal or if they want to stay out of Alliance tonight.

  20. Hotels in Canton are a little bit nicer and also more places to eat over there. They might also have taken in a trip to the HOF.

  21. Warhawkguard, stop being a homer. Hardin-Simmons is really tough, but since you are such a homer nothing will change your thick skull.

  22. Wheaton team has stayed at the same hotel every year they come to Alliance. In Canton. They bus over to the stadium in the morning.

Good Luck to all the teams.

  23. CONGRATS TO ALL FOR GETTING TO THIS POINT BUT IT WILL BE ALL UMHB THIS YEAR!!!!

    UMHB 56
    UWW 14

    Wheaton 28
    MU 21

  24. Conrad,
The Wesley running back may have been averaging 6 yards per carry, but you do factor in the sacks and TFL. If they could run, they should have stuck with it more. 47 rushing yards is not much.

    Warhawkguard,
More like beat them up once————16-7 is not a whippin. IT is UWW that has not faced a team like UMHB this year———UMHB has played 3 ranked teams————-Hardin Simmons twice and beat them twice you guys lost to a conference opponent.

    Conrad,
Back to you———I wouldn’t consider Wesley or W&J running teams———they probably pass more than they do run unless they are whipping someone but to say because UMHB got such a big lead it put them in pass mode was incorrect————it was because UMHB had stuffed their running games to nothing and that was they only way they had a chance to move the ball—————-you look at the yards in both as I stated———-14 total rushing yards(against a player that was averaging 6 yards per carry) Both Wesley and W&J ran the ball 24 times each———–that’s 48 rushes for 14 yards. Now I know you are including sacks and I’m sure you added in tackles for loss which UMHB is ranked pretty high up on the list for doing(lots of TFL).

Either way, as one person posted once————–that’s what good defenses do and I don’t think UWW will be rushing against this defense like they have the defenses that they have faced in the playoffs so far.

  25. 13 hrs to go to kick-off and then let em fly. I think the team that scores the most points is going to win————so, with that being said, I’ll stick with my original predictions stated earlier.

    Warhawk guard,
“As Usual”——————I think Hardin Simmons was a heck of a team and could beat UWW——————they are in UMHB’s conference and UMHB beat them——twice in fact. UWW has not faced a defense like UMHB’s————–your own player last year said it was UMHB’s defense that helped prepare them for the Stagg Bowl and it was the best by far that they had faced———————-quoted by the Beaver himself.

  26. Warhawk guard,
You guys didn’t put the game with Wartburg away until the 4th quarter. You guys had trouble with them, UMHB is going to give you a whole lot more.

  27. Another thing————-this isn’t going to be a team with the 91st ranked defense either. Wartburg’s defense is ranked 91st————————they gave up an avg of over 300yds per game. Come on down and sweat it out in the TEXAS heat.

  28. ALERT: CRU FANS, EMBOLDENED BY THE PREDICTION OF THE EXPERTS GET COCKY AT THE LAST HOUR!!

Predictions of UHMB scoring 37 and 56 against UWW!

Sorry if it’s hard to take you guys too seriously.

Try just winning a game against UWW before getting too cocky.
    Just one.
    One.
Not Zero as it currently stands. One.
I know…everything is bigger in Texas. Especially the talk.
As you folks coined awhile back against HSU:
“Our House, Your House, Doesn’t Matter”
    Enjoy tomorrows game.
Then be thankful you had a fine season.
Then enjoy watching UWW against MUC in the Stagg Bowl.
    Just like last year.
Oh, and the year before that.
Oh, and the year before that.

  29. Just wondering if the cru fans mind telling everyone here, each of the 75 reasons [excuses] why you got blasted at Southern Oregon, that powerhouse below .500 NAIA team? Oh, and why I’m at it, since you’all like to compare scores so much in Texas, HSU barely beat UW-LaCrosse 24-23 after La Crosse led the entire game…UWW shutout La Crosse by 31 a few weeks later.

And CentexCoog, you seem to know little about d3 football…UWW plays in the WIAC, conference #1 according to d3football.com…the 4th or 5th place (UWL) team would be competitive and probably beat most conferences #1…saying UWW hasn’t played anybody is simply ignorant of the division III football landscape…Mount doesn’t have to play anybody to be great – the last 15 years speaks for itself…if you look at the remaining conferences of the final 4 teams, the ASC is probably the weakest top to bottom.

  30. Somebody mentioned UWW only winning by 2 over UW-Eau Claire. UWW also beat them by 30 a week after the UWSP loss. They haven’t looked back since.

  31. R24aider your right cortland played near perfect I thought and hoped they would do better..the weather didn’t matter…its normal around here this time of year….Wheaton “ministry in football” what a great concept

  32. Very interesting predictions.

How does one figure out how good or bad UWW is vs MHB.

    Facts about UW-W football team

UW-W has a big and fast offensive Line and on the defensive line is also big and fast. This years team has Speed. In my opinion this years team is faster than in the past – defensive backs, LBs, and defensive line. Very good athletes all around

UW-W is a very good team. – lost one game this year -to Stevens Point

They played a flat game – too many mistakes they beat themselves – period.
SP wasn’t over powering – they were a good team but if the two played 10 times – UWW would win better than 75% of the time.

Wartburg beat Stevens Point and UW-W beat Wartburg. If UWW played Wartburg. ten times – UWW would be 9 and 1 maybe 10 and 0.

UW-Whitewater is a good team offensively and defensively.

Don’t worry – UWW will show up on Sat. – too good of a team to get beat by any team but themselves. That is what happened at the Stevens Point game.- UW-Whitewater beat themselves. Too many mistakes and played flat.

It could happen vs MHB- but the coaching staff is a good one at UWW. They will have UW-W players ready. MHB has speed – so does UWW linebacker – they swarm and gang tackle. Corners – very quick and sure tacklers. Go Troney – one of the leaders and players on this years team. Defensive Ends for UW-W – fast – MHB offensive will have their hands full. Anthony White has been beating all offensive Tackles all year – MHB QB many will be sore after this game. He will be hit and hit and hit by AW. He is so fast – he runs down running back from the back side behind the line of scrimmage. Jon Balwin – a real good player- He will make plays also. The guys in the Middle DeFrane, Ankley and Hicks. Very strong and will be hard to get big gaines on them up the middle.

LB’s fast, strong and sure tacklers – this is UW-W big defensive strength. They show up every game. Too many all americans have come from UW-W over the years – this is no exception.

UW-W Running backs – UW-W is loaded – 3 and 4 deep – doesn’t matter who is running – the offensive line is very strong, fast, and will pound the rock and dominate most teams.

    UW-W can run and pass

If you can stop their running – they can pass.

pass receivers – fast, and can catch the ball – Rusch, Gifford, Wells, Brandes, Robinson – all fast, big and strong. Too many good receives to stop one of them – Tight ends – block well and can catch when passed to.

I don’t have any real comments about MHB -I haven’t watched them play this year. This is a big point I want to make – if you haven’t seen the two teams play this year – how can you make a prediction. It is like comparing apples to cars. I sure can’t say who will win and my how much.

to get to the simi final – you have to be a good team – MHB from the past games I have personally viewed – They have always been fast, and played hard. and show up to play football. But their Record — 0 and 3 vs UWW-

What does that say- will be a good game for sure. Who ever wins – goes to the Stagg Bowl. UW-W has been there for the past 3 years. That should say something – also UW_W is the defending National Champions of D3 Football. I guess that doesn’t mean much but Will find on on Sat in Belton, TX.

Mistakes will be the deciding factor – no mistake – that team will win, but we all know football games are not mistake free. It should be a close game – it will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes.

    Go Warhawks Go

  33. I just did a little research. MHB got beat by Southern Oregon team. WOW – now look at Southern Oregon’s team record 3 wins and 7 losses. They beat MHB.

Now lets look at who Southern Oregon played and were common opponents of UWW-

SO vs Willamette lost 23 to 31 – UWW beat Wilamette last week
SO vs Linfield lost 7 to 14 – UWW beat Linfield a few years back – does not count this year
SO Beat Azusa Pacific – UWW beat Azusa in the past.

MHB got beat by a 3 and 7 team – How good is MHB conference –

Someone is smoking some funny weed if they think the Cru is going to run and pass on UWW and beat them by multiiple TD- not going to happen.

UWW will show up and play ball- as I said before – the only team that is going to beat UWW is UWW. If they play their game mistake free (few mistakes) they will be in every game.

On any given day any team can beat any team. Will be an interesting game.
but to get beat by a 3 and 7 team and then go off and say they are going to Salem. I just don’t know if anyone looked into the strength of the conferences.

I will do the research and share it with you all

  34. All this talk about UMHB’s kicker…
Who is the all time leading kicker in D3?
    Whitewater’s Own
Watch for a good game and come on, does anyone really think UMHB is going to put up more than 30?

  35. Wow……”we” need to play this game and get it over with….lots of doubts….etc.etc. I was in fact surprised that “everyone” selected UMHB to defeat the defending national champion….I DID, but then I’m a big time supporter of UMHB. One can not afford to look past UWW!!! They are a great team and will be ready this afternoon. On the other hand…UMHB has, over the last 3-4 games, played as well as I’ve ever seen them play. Yeah, I know.. they lost to a not so good Southern Oregon…..I attribute that to a “STUFF happens” situation….how do you explain it…UMHB was really “beat up” and was just “hitting on 2-cylinders”.

  36. I think the trash talk fits right in with a game like this UWW/UMHB…it only shows how big a game it is for both teams….If MUC had a rivalry like this one in the semis, im sure our fans would be fired up as well…..

I have to admit though, reading the comments….A chance to avenge last year’s loss and take on UWW again might be nice…first things first though….Wheaton here in about an hour….you all have fun in TX…..

  37. warhawktrumpet Says: “does anyone really think UMHB is going to put up more than 30?” Warhawk, I could throw some BS as you…..but my true feeling is that nothing that happens this afternoon will surprise me…..they are both good teams and either could “hang” 30 on the other……I’m just HOPING the UMHB team that has played the last 3 games shows up today!!!!

  38. Hey Hooper,
I’m on your side in terms of teams we are rooting for. However, if you’re going to throw stats out there, you should take a look at the games stats between UWW and UMHB the last three games against each other. I don’t have the totals, but I do believe UMHB has a decided advantage. UMHB literally shut down our running game in Texas, and in the next two, gave up less than 100 per game for Beaver.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a UWW believer, but you should know that this UMHB, regardless of who they lost to, is a real football team.

  39. not thrilled with the MUC special teams play here in the playoffs….Ittersagen’s return just another example..but hey FUMBLE and WE GOT IT!!!

  40. Dear Miken17

Look at todays sats. Advantage on everything UWW
I don’t need to say anything more. Win #4 over MHB

The competition that MHB play is not that strong. Look at the score today
MHB got beat by an NAIA team who had a 3 and 7 season.
Now they got beat by the 2007 National Champions.
It was a close game until the seond half. The Warhawk showed up to play. And then did play well – ran it and passed it – then are a difficult team to stop.

  41. Not a pretty day for UMHB !!! Starting running back injured and “knocked” out of the game on first offensive play. Game was close for the first half….but, Whitewater dominated during the second half….they are just too big and too strong!! Good luck to them during the Stagg Bowl….
