Game day updates

We’re barely underway and I’m about ready to close the book on Wheaton. Here’s the way the first six minutes have gone so far:
Wheaton got the ball first, punted.
Punt went 26 yards.
Then Pete Ittersagen, Wheaton’s top corner, got hurt.
Nate Kmic ran for a 52-yard touchdown.
Wheaton went three-and-out, giving up only its eighth sack of the season.
Wheaton punted for 25 yards. Mount Union ball on the Wheaton 35.

… as I write this Wheaton picks the ball off.

  1. Thanks, and you too. I would love to see a rematch with UMHB next week up here and with Beaver back. I’m sure that they feel the same way after the game they played against us earlier in the season. Then again, I’m sure Wesley would like to have another shot to show that they were better than the 58-6 grubbing they took last year from us.

  2. UWWRUNNER,

Thanks for the stats. I was curious to see how everyone lines up. Some big boys in there – I think some would do quite well in Nathan’s 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Best of luck to UWW this weekend – I have nothing but respect for St. John’s, but I’m a huge WIAC fan.

Good luck to Mary Hardin-Baylor as well – everyone wants a rematch of you and UWW.

It is really going to stink when the season is over…

  3. Usee

Join us for some great burgers and Old Johnnie Ale at the Stiftingsfest in the parking lot before the St. Johns/WW game.

    SeanGOP

Same to you if you are coming to the game. You ARE coming to support your team aren’t you?

  4. That’s really funny.

I was about to mention the Stiftungfest burgers … as in someone might spit in mine before they give it to me if I ever make it to Collegeville, if I forget to mention John Gagliardi as one of the other best coaches in D3 “hands down.”

I know that’s over, Purple Crush, but I had to mention John.

  5. I really dont see how St Johns has a chance this week. They are out talented in this game. The squeaked by most good teams this year. They barely beat Eau Claire who was not very good in the WIAC. Out of respect to Coach G, Coach B will probably not run up the score. I could see 35-3 or something like that. Beaver rushes for 200 and St Johns has a long long long bus ride rome.

  6. Raiderguy,

Thanks for the invite – I seed some of that Old Johnnie Ale.

I would love to be there, but I was just told today that I have a blown head gasket, and I will be lucky if it is fixed in time for me to make the game. I’m in Iowa. It is going to be a big bill to pay.

  7. Right…those were the only two that I was fairly sure were starters (assumption drawn from the all conference selections). I only listed players that I was quite sure were starters. I was just curious why the two I listed didn’t match any of the linemen you listed. That’s all.

  8. Flush,

I seem to remember a Stagg bowl a few years ago when weveryone thought the Johnies were “out talented” bythe Purple Raiders. They put the biggest whooping on MUC that they have seen in 18 years.

  9. That MU team wasn’t nearly as talented as this years UWW team. No Justin Beaver on that MU team either. Johnnies had a good year, but their season ends on Saturday. Whoever installed that game as 4 point favorite for UWW, I would bankrupt them this week if they were taking bets. Whitewater wins and wins big. Sorry Joelmama somethings were not meant to be.

  10. Although I certainly wouldn’t mind the game going as Flush is predicting, I really don’t see it going down like that. St. Johns is a very good ball club with a legend on the sidelines. You can simply never count them out. UWW better not being overlooking them because they may get shocked if they do.

  11. Good God…..Overlooking you got to be kidding. Who could be overlooking at this stage. Sean GOP if you get your headgasket repaired stop by the Goo Crew tent at the Perk. We will fix you an Italian Beef…..

  12. Sakman,

I love Italian Beef – BIG TIME!

The Goo Crew sounds like a great crowd. Have a great time. If I’m not there, then I’ll be thinking about you. I’ll definately be rooting with you.

GO UW WHITEWATER!! Eat a giant Italian Beef sandwich for me!

  13. Go Cru, Johnnies, Capital, and Rowan. That’s who I want to win but my predictions are;

    WESLEY, UWW, MU, ROWAN

  14. SeanGOP,
Your predicament gave me an idea for next year.

    A regional carpool thread.

    i.e.
    > Coming from Fargo, headed to Collegeville; leaving 8 a.m. Anyone need a ride?
    > Headed from Philadelphia to Westminster, Md. for the Mules-Green Terror. Will drive a Muhlenberg fan, if he can stand the McDaniel flag whipping in the wind. P.S. Passenger side seat belt does not work.
    > Knox fan headed to Saturday’s rivalry game. Has room in back of pickup for Monmouth fans that need ride.

    Mmm, maybe we’d better not.

  15. PA_wesleyfan,

Good luck tomorrow. I’m sure it will be a great game. Wish I could be there but work has priority this week. UMHB is in the air headed your way as I post this thread. Go Cru!!!!

  16. Help!! D3Keith, UWW-Johnnie Fans, Wesley-UMHB Fans

How can I get a copy of the UWW-St.Johns game and the Wesley-UMHB game? I would appreciate your help on this issue. I can’t be at the games but I would love to see it on film.

  17. I don’t think they’re available for purchase. I would like to see the games I can’t be at too.

Whitewater has a student TV station that is doing the game, I would start there. As for Wesley/UMHB, the Cru has a top-notch video department that tapes games.

I would try to go through the schools to reach those departments and go from there.

  18. D3Keith,

Thanks, I will try those suggestions. Go Cru. You better bring the A game tomorrow, Wesley will be ready.
