Game Day Live: Make a move

Maybe this weekend’s slate of games doesn’t have the star power that Week 5 did, but that’s when we can’t afford to get complacent as fans of Division III football.

Could Augsburg upset St. Thomas? Sure. Elmhurst over Wheaton? Definitely possible. UW-River Falls over UW-Whitewater? Alright, that might be a bit of a stretch, but the point is there’s a reason why coaches talk about Any Given Saturday, and it’s not just to cover their tails.

It can happen, so no sleeping at the wheel this weekend.

Game Day: Big day!

Oh yes, it’s a big day for games today, with a large slate of games we’ve already talked about previously.

Some have names, like the Tommie-Johnnie game, some just have proximity and a long-running dislike (Linfield-Willamette), some will likely go on to decide a conference title (Cal Lutheran-Redlands) and some are surprisingly intriguing (Whitewater-Platteville). Wesley will try to become the second Division III team to take down a scholarship FCS team this season, traveling to Charleston Southern.

And there’s a lot more. But all will be covered today on D3football.com, so follow along and check us out in the live chat below:

Game Day: Elimination already?

Hardin-Simmons
HSU could either redeem its season or be essentially done by the end of the afternoon.

Hardin-Simmons started with a bang, shot up the polls, then may well have shot itself in the foot last week with four fumbles and an interception at Mississippi College. That makes the Cowboys’ home game against Mary Hardin-Baylor, for all intents and purposes, an elimination game.

That, and it might not even be the best game in its conference on Saturday.

We have a full slate this week, with the NESCAC finally joining in. You can join in from wherever you are on Saturday, either by Twitter, using the #d3fb hashtag, on the live chat below or in the blog comments.
