Semifinal Saturday

So let’s open the floor up for questions and comments on Bethel at Mount Union and Mary Hardin-Baylor at UW-Whitewater.

A lot of people are expecting a third consecutive all-purple Stagg Bowl. Since the first round of the playoffs, close games have not been the norm. Will we see a great finish on Saturday at either location, or both? What do the Crusaders and Royals have to do to pull the upsets? Why will the Warhawks and Purple Raiders dominate?

Give us your specific thoughts on the matchups, the weather or whatever crosses your mind. And feel free if you’re watching or listening to us to kick in your in-game updates here as well. And as always, enjoy!

Game Day from Allentown

That’s where Keith McMillan and I are this weekend — we’re here and you’re there … somewhere. Good week to be playing — if you’re in the tournament, you still have a chance.

Cold and a tad windy here for the Muhlenberg/Salisbury game. Great day for running the football and defense, which is what these teams are already known for.

We’ve previewed this weekend to death, so we’ll just throw it open for you guys. I’d have said y’all, but we’re north of the Mason-Dixon.

GameDay, meet Game Day

GameDay just hit the airwaves on ESPN and so far the crowd is looking pretty good in Williamstown, Mass. I must admit to not being much of a GameDay watcher in the past couple of years. As I’ve traveled to more and more Division III games, I don’t exactly find myself in front of a television at 10 a.m. ET on a Saturday. This is only the third weekend of 11 that I’ve spent at home, and I’m only doing that because I have to be at the airport at a little after 3 p.m. to get to ESPNU.

Just showed highlights of Mount Union. Chris Fowler pronounced Monon Bell correctly. ESPN graphic missed the hyphen on Hampden-Sydney.

I’ll be virtually channel surfing between the big games today and watching for teams to clinch, etc.
