Around 2:00 p.m. ET, it will get really crazy. With nine noon games, six 1 p.m. games and a 3 p.m. game, things get really intense, and they do every year.

Some of the noon games come down to the wire. Some will be upsets. Some will have last-minute victories. The dust we’ll settle, we’ll move names forward in the brackets, and then the 1 p.m. games will come down as well. Follow it all here, with our live chat, on the scoreboard, and all the rest.

  1. So everything I see here implies that not many surprises should be expected in D3. The predictions are cut and dry

  2. Dubuque, for whom I am a first year fan, has an impressive offense. North Central an impressive Def. Defense usually plays catch up to an offense. Maybe it comes down to adjustments and coaching?

  3. I don’t necessarily have that impression — five toss-ups in the first round is pretty good. Remember the first-round games include a bunch of bottom seeds that will be eliminated.

  4. St. thomas/St scholastica game is being played on a snow covered field and the elements seem to be helping to level the sides

  5. I wasn’t at the game, but it’s disappointing to see Hopkins go down so early. I thought they were poised to make a good run.
Was it more a case of just not playing well, not being ready to play, or just playing a better team, etc.?

  6. I had JHU in my pick’ems to win, mostly home field advantage. However, JHU looked very suspicious this year, especially with their late-season troubles.

SJF came to play; you gotta give ’em credit.

  7. Congrats to Monmouth on a well played game. Yes they struggled some early on. That could be because they had a off week and their last several games were against weaker opponents. This game was a wake up reminder. They will be prepared for St. Thomas. They will be playing in December folks!

  8. Congrats to Illinois College for representing the Midwest Conference. Yes they lost convincingly, but it was a stepping stone for these young men.
