ATN Podcast 238: Time to get going!

This felt like a long offseason, and there was a chance that itself was never going to recover, that not only might there not be a podcast for the 2019 season, but there might not even be a website.

No kidding.

It’s been a rough year or so for the spirit of Division III, regardless of who’s defining it. But Pat Coleman and Keith McMillan are here to say that no, we’re not going to let the foolishness of the MIAC presidents beat us, and we’re not going to let it get to us when a certain purple power wants to big-time

No — we will treat Year 21 of with the same fervor as we did the first 20.

But, that having been said, while we didn’t have a June or July podcast, we did interviews in June and July, and we bring those to you in this edition. Chuck Yrigoyen, commissioner of the American Rivers Conference, talks about the issues facing Division III sports in the upcoming years, why his conference presidents haven’t voted Wartburg out of the league, and whether the ARC would have any interest in adding a free agent school to the north of it by the name of St. Thomas. (You know, since the MIAC decided that St. Thomas was too good for them.) We also talk with Glenn Caruso, the St. Thomas head coach, about the news and what his team is focused on in 2019, and we chat with Buffalo State coach Christian Ozolins, as his program goes into a new conference where his school is now the one that doesn’t look like the others.

Pat and Keith talk about it all in the latest Around the Nation Podcast. The Around the Nation Podcast is a regular conversation between Pat Coleman and Keith McMillan and guests covering the wide range of Division III football.
