Thanks for getting me going, Gordon.
We really caught a break on the weather here in Salem. For the past several days, it’s been rain, rain, rain. Forecast says we’re back to rain after 4 p.m. BUt for now, the clouds are thing, the wind is nonexistent — and it’s a great day for football.
Four plays — TD for MUC
UWW seems bigger at the line, but Mount able to open up great holes for Kmic to run through and able to give Micheli protection to pass.
UWW is going to have a long day.
8000 yds for Kmic!
Three plays, another MUC TD. Wow.
Wow……Mount scores against with a long strike from Micheli to Shots.
using a lot of play action. working very well for the Raiders.
Gosh, my typing is horrid. 🙂
against=again; Shots=Shorts
How was Bobby Swallow the AFCA All-America QB. He might be good but Micheli has thrown 4 straight perfect balls against a great defense.
Probably doesn’t hurt to have 10 minutes to make up your mind where you want to throw the ball.
This might be a long day for both defenses.
UW-W with some life after the big return and double reverse. Need to score to give the defense some hope.
special teams only achilles heel i can see for the raiders today. need to do a better job on kickoff coverage.
UWW running the ball effectively…who’d a thunk it.
UW-W keeping this interesting with the score. Would be a long day for the Warkhawks and for fans and media if this was a lopsided affair.
OK, UW-W can get yards on the ground, now can the defense do more than chase MUC receivers?
If UWW finds a way to clean it up on D, either with a turnover or by getting pressure on Micheli, they could control the clock against the MUC D with the running game.
That’s easier said than done of course.
After Mount’s first two drives, that consisted of seven plays that were all positive yardage, UW-W was showing signs of slowing the Raiders.
(while typing) Micheli spots a wide-open hole and scrables for the first
UWW D line is just getting flat blocked!
Micheli looks like he’s playing a video game. Kmic is being held in “check”.
Micheli’s able to pull the football down and run was a big weapon against Wheaton and will be invaluable today as the Warhawks will keep keying on Kmic like they have.
Its great listening to Pat and the boys with this on HD
able= ability (sorry)
Micheli showing serious speed on those scrambles.
Micheli’s got great vision on the field — pass or run.
Kmic gets his first TD of the day
Micheli and Kmic might as well have bulldozers in front of them.
UWW needs to use thier offense as a defense by keeping MUC off the field for awhile…we’ll see.
how many 15yard+ plays do the Raiders have with 4:43 left in the 1st Quarter?
This offensive display is impressive, especially for it to come against Whitewater. Whodathunkit?
Alot of passing…not going to help the cause. MUC has about 1:30 to score for the fourth time in the first quarter…anyone wanna bet???
Jeff Donavan’s arm is very impressive for the D3 level. He’s got very good velocity.
WW to punt… what next for the MUC offense? Skunks had said we were going to see some new “wrinkles” on offense for Mount (he has an inside source). I wonder what these are going to be..
Why would you punt? Seriously, the way they’ve been moving the ball? I think they did WW a favor.
Impressive stop (though barely) for UW-W, but the return man coughs up the ball. He barely gets it back.
It seems like UWW is sparking a lot of “barely” comments 🙂
End of the 1QTR
Total offensive yards: MUC 243 / UWW 83
Big plays are killing the Warhawks
another great throw from a good playaction fake for Donavan.. into MUC territory. I can see why some of the WW posters on post patterns are saying he’s going to be a really good QB
Good looking drive for UW-W, if they can punch it in it’s a game again.
Donovan has a nice arm…Did someone forget to tell the Defensive Coordinators that this was a Varsity game?
Whitewater uses one running play from the 5?
Why would UW-W re-kick here, they got darned good coverage on the first one.
Basically the same result, I agree Ron…you’re playing with fire.
Yikes…… missed the first quarter (coaching basketball this morning)… 21-7 MUC… not looking good for UWW.
I think kicking the FG for UWW was a mistake.
Need a 3 and out here… badly!
Wrong shade of purple for Micheli.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Big Play for the UWW Defense. A fumble recovery would have been huge there
That’s a pretty bad call…awful really. Bad break for WW.
Wow, that is a pretty weak call. No way the officials can make that call. Should have been a 10 yard HOLDING penalty on Mount Union. That is the type of call that ruins national title games
Sometimes officials try to make “every” call in Championship games, even when there’s nothing there.
Kmic looks pretty pedestrian when MUC faces a good run defense.
Bad call…
Another call for instant replay in the final games?
I don’t think he’s pedestrian, I think UW-W is just doing a very good job targeting him, much like they did last year with Garcon.
agree with ryantipps, goScotties… they haven’t played slouches in the playoffs. WW is the best defense they faced in each of the last 4 years. He did have a 95 yard run in the 05 Stagg Bowl Game..
