Around the Nation Podcast: D-III pride

There were a couple of big games and although we’ll spend a good amount of time talking about the St. Thomas-St. John’s game, that’s not all that went on this past Saturday. UW-Whitewater preserved Division III pride for a second consecutive year as the No. 2 Warhawks handled NAIA No. 2 Morningside, but the win didn’t come without questions. We hear from Whitewater coach Kevin Bullis, plus dive deep into the Mount Union quarterback rotation and more in this week’s podcast.

The Around the Nation Podcast is a weekly conversation between Pat Coleman and Keith McMillan covering the wide range of Division III football. It drops on Monday morning weekly throughout the season.

  1. Protractors are half-circles, usually made out of clear plastic. They are used for approximating angles, or as a straight edge. Some protractors have more than one curve in them. A compass has a pointy end and a pencil or marker of some kind in it to draw circles. A straight edge or ruler is very helpful when used in conjunction with either of the aforementioned tools.

A radius is a straight line from the center of a circle to its edge.

The diameter of a circle is a straight line going from one edge of a circle to the edge on the opposite side that passes through the center point of the circle.

A compass is used to draw the circumference of a circle.

Hope this helps you guys. 🙂

  2. As always, enjoyed the podcast. Another in the list of D-1 transfers is Hobart QB Shane Sweeney who is putting up some big numbers this year. Shane was a high school standout in Hobart’s hometown, Geneva, NY. For some reason U of Albany was not a good fit. As a Hobart fan I am a bit concerned about Merchant Marine as you pointed out, they apparently run the option quite well and Hobart had trouble stopping the run vs. Union on Saturday and at Brockport opening week. Also, there was last years’ rout of Hobart by option running Springfield. Should be a good game. Hopefully standout LB Marcus Jemison will be back in the lineup for Hobart next Saturday.
