For future reference…

This is a list.

D3football.com is compiling a list of the Recruit Recap system. This is only a list.

The broadcasters and writers of D3football.com in voluntary cooperation with themselves have developed this list to keep you informed in the event that recruits are coming to your school. It will be referenced in future Doses so we needed a place to put it.

The recruits are listed by region, then alphabetically by school, with the high school listed after the recruit.

This has been a list of the Recruit Recap system. Had this been an actual Dose, it would be followed by news, informaiton or at least witty remarks about Division III football in general.

This concludes this list. We now return you to your painfully dull off season.

  1. Bob, you keep saying this but we are still looking for the required proof. Any published story will do.

  2. Today (April 27), The Virginian Pilot announced that Hickory High School (Chesapeake, VA) center Matt Savage, a 6-foot, 260-pound two-time All-Tidewater selection, has committed to play football at Salisbury.

On April 12, The Roanoke Times announced that Emory & Henry is getting a pair of first-team All-Timesland selections, offensive lineman Tommy Burgess and defensive back Kenny Horan. They will be joined by defensive back Chauncey Lumpp, who had 99 tackles as a senior. All three players are from Cave Spring High School in Roanoke, Virginia.

  3. On April 20, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Centre got commitments from linebacker Tim Dougherty and strong safety Matt Mazzanti. Both players are from Blessed Trinity in Georgia. Dougherty finished his four-year high school career with a school-record 351 tackles (144 his senior year). Mazzanti recorded 93 tackles and three INTs last season.

Teammate Brandon Braner (wide receiver) has committed to play quarterback at Randolph-Macon. Braner had 222 yards and two touchdowns receiving last year.

  4. On April 14, The Capital announced that Archbishop Spalding’s Matt Cassilly (Severn, MD) has committed to play at Washington & Lee and Arundel’s Sean Urbany (Gambrills, MD) is headed to McDaniel.

Cassilly, a running back and kicker, was named small school All-State honorable mention. Urbany, even at only 5’9”, 200-lb his senior year, was named big school All-State honorable mention at offensive guard.

  5. Kid:

Thanks for the help. I’ve added the names to the list above along with several off a list the Liberty League posters shared.

  6. I believe most of these guys were on the list for the next time we ran one, so maybe Kid will be putting Gordon out of a job. 🙂

  7. Kid:

    Thanks again.

I’ve also added links to full lists for UW-Whitewater and Illinois Wesleyan above.

  8. These stories were in an April 27 Roanoke, VA website: http://www.roanoke.com/sports/college/wb/62598

“Previously unannounced Emory & Henry football recruits from Timesland include Hidden Valley tight end Brian Bush, Martinsville offensive tackle James Hairston (6-1, 310), Eastern Montgomery offensive and defensive lineman Josh Burgess (6-4, 310) and Bassett lineman Ryan Stone (6-6, 320)

Stone moved to Henry County from South Carolina before his senior year and could be a force at the Division III level if he improves his footwork, Bassett coach Jay Gilbert said. Stone has put up some impressive numbers in the Bassett (VA) weight room, particularly on lifts requiring upper-body strength.

Gilbert said that running back Brandon Johnson, who had received some Division I-AA and Division II football interest, will play football and basketball at Division III Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C.”

  9. The Herald NewsLa Grange.

The article also mentions three other players already listed. One of note is DB Muraglia, heading to R-MC, who was named the 2005 Herald News Defensive Player of the Year.

  10. After “Herald News” and before “La Grange” was suppose to be;

…reported on May 2 that wide receiver Bryant Torres – Queen of Peace (North Arlington, N.J.) – will attend…

Ugh, sorry Gordon and Pat. Perhaps I should retire from Dose posting? :/

  11. Kid:

It looks like Torres is going to La Salle, not LaGrange. As you know, LaSalle isn’t Division III (as the writer says) although it does give us a chance to be on ESPN’s ticker such as:

    “Ewing 49 La Salle 7”

You can certainly keep sharing the news. We’ll just take the mistakes out of your salary. 😉

  12. Here’s my two cents *plink, plink* … I’m an idiot!

I know Salle is DI-AA (non-scholarship?), just ‘assumed’ the next line read Grange.

This is a great example of why you’re a Division III guru and I’m just a wannabe. 🙂

  13. Some more updates…
