We’ve got one week in the books. Some thoughts, a few random ones at that.
How did Rowan gain 609 yards and score just 21 points? Three turnovers and three missed field goals would be a start. Looks like Ulysses Encarnacion is going to fill in pretty well at running back with 143 yards on 24 carries.
The Centennial found a little offense: Muhlenberg 30, TCNJ 13; McDaniel 36, Bridgewater 35; Johns Hopkins … uhm, well, it’s not a perfect comparison. And then there’s F&M, 16-for-42 passing with five interceptions won’t cut it. Hardly a dominating passing performance.
Think Wittenberg is reconsidering the four-year contract with Capital? And to think they wanted to sign a deal for six.
Hard to tell who had the better year-to-year turnaround, Denison or Central. Sure, Denison turned a 64-0 loss at Waynesburg into a 21-17 win. But Central did it against a stronger opponent and got the win on the road. The Dutch lost at home to Augustana 38-7 and won 25-24 in overtime this year.
Nice job defensively by St. John Fisher today. Steven Stepnick broke up this pass in the end zone (pictured) to snuff a scoring threat.
Congrats to: Manchester and North Park. Nice start to the season for both. And where did today’s Millikin performance come from?
If Endicott can’t handle Hartwick at home they are going to struggled to compete in the NEFC.
We got a press release today from a school touting its Lindy’s preseason ranking. Guess that school didn’t look at what Lindy’s No. 10 did today (St. Norbert, lost 45-7 to a team Lindy’s apparently hadn’t heard of, UW-Whitewater).
How about how the “holes” that 2004’s departing seniors left on the offensive side of the ball? Meaning the O-line and at QB. To me it seemd like there were no holes when the game began and ended. There always seems to be the question of who will step in for so and so at fisher, now to me it seems that question is answered.
I agree. I also answered it in a previous blog entry, so I didn’t think I needed to repeat myself here.
wow, easy fisherfootball2004 your getting a ton of press on here. No need to come off like your being overlooked. when you said “there always seems to be the question of who will step in….” what did you mean? i mean seriously, its not like fisher’s been reloading for years. you did it once…
you guys are doing a great job over there keep it up and we’ll see you in the regular season finale w/ play off implications once again….
WOW…Rowan puts up more than 600 yards of offense! The Profs have two remaining tough games on the schdule, one against rival The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) at home and another against a IAA opponant Robert Morris. Other than that they have a free ride into the regional finals against Delaware Valley again. The NJAC is clearly Rowan’s.
Proffan04,
Watch out for Cortland this year…..you won the past 2 years by a combined 4 pts as they always give you guys a good game. They just manhandled brockport, who took you to OT last year. This year they look to be much improved so i wouldnt hold on to that NJAC title yet.
yeah and that 600yds netted you anamazing 21 pts….big deal.
empire8fan, very harsh words for the Rowan fans. They may have faltered in the red zone or where ever, but 600 yards is impressive no matter how much they score so you got to give it to them for that. Plus I was not complaining about face time, fisher will get a lot more of that in the months to come, I was just saying How impressive Shuyana was, 19 for 22 is a great day. As for the holes we have to fill in previous years, How about Gerald Dias, Rich Converse, Greg Roland, Jay Meyers, plus a number of offensive linemen. Those are some holes that they did fill and had answers for
Proffan04, good thing you are not coaching Rowan, if you think there are only two tough games left you haven’t watched too much NJAC action. Montclair could enter the Rowan game with no wins and still walk out with a victory, every team in the NJAC gets up for Rowan.
