OK I am clearly confused. Otterbein went up to 3 in the national poll, has won 3 games since last poll, but dropped down again. Anyone know whats up here?

Seems very strange to me. How can there be that much disparity. Seems like something fishy in the Great Lakes Region.

It apparently has to do with SOS…national poll is more about record…rankings are geared to tournament selection and that’s where SOS is a big factor this year.

Check out NCAA.com and under rankings tab at top, go to dIII women’s soccer and download the latest regional rankings…at the bottom of the press release is a stack of blue boxes…click on Great Lakes and open that file…it has a complete record/w-l records of the team’s opponents and Strength of Schedule…it’s pretty enlightening.

Saw Otterbein beat Calvin today opening game, with only 8 teams in GL Region guess they will be 8th.

OC takes out Wash U. Not sure how the SOS works but look forward to this team again. Wash U with 6 losses going into this game, OC undefeated and has not had 6 losses in 2 years.
