Clark bounces MIT from the NEWMAC tournament, winning today in the semifinals 71-59. MIT will likely take a bid away from someone.

What are chances of John Carroll University getting in seeing that they lost in semifinal game and will they host.
Author comment by Pat Coleman · February 27, 2010 at 3:22 pm
Getting in still probably pretty good — depends on what else happens. Hosting is probably not very likely now, but isn’t completely impossible. They were basically a lock to host before.

Thanks what do you think needs to happen. Sorry for all the questions.

That’s alright — one thing you really want is for Wooster to win the NCAC title game tonight against Wittenberg, but since the bids are handed out nationally, all of the games are important and you really want every favorite to win.

jjs1482, your wish, as relayed to me by Pat Coleman, has been granted. Wooster is in the tournament with a Pool A bid.

How about a bye for Wash U. and St. Norbert hosting Point on Thursday ?? The mileage works…………
Author comment by Pat Coleman · February 28, 2010 at 1:46 am
The seeding doesn’t.

I believe the Roop is omniscient and his call of Point at St. Norberts is the way it should be.
The Roop hath spoken, that is how it shall be.
Author comment by titan2000 · February 28, 2010 at 11:18 am
BTW, Point should be able to crush St. Norberts wherever they play.

I like the Tommies in the Midwest.

Point wouldn’t crush St. Norbert if they played on the moon. Not enough difference in weight ratios……………….
Still, I think it will be interesting to see what the committee does with the two MIAC teams. Could be an all west, west regional/pod on the left coast in the opening weekend.
St. Norbert is a one and done no matter where they go however.

Roop:
I think you should use your political power with the NCAA committee and see if there can be a spot reserved in the tourney for the national scoring champion each year.

What about UMHB winning the ASC Tournament in Belton over UT Dallas 80 to 70. Coach DeWeese has put together another fine team after losing 10 off of last years team.

in response to titan2000:
I think that’s a terrible idea. Have you ever heard the saying, Defense wins championships? Why not reserve a spot for the best defensive team each season? Also, your idea would encourage running up the score on inferior teams. Overall just a bad idea.

Titan2000 was kidding and making an inside joke in relation to a particular school that Roop follows, Grinnell. Grinnell runs a unique offensive system that results in a lot of points scored by its offense and the opposing team.
You can learn more about Grinnell here:

The Pioneers have had more success with the System in previous seasons than they did in 2009-2010.

Grinnell basketball records should be in the roller derby area of D3Boards.com.
