Gordon, I think the NJCU women caught everyone by surprise last night defeating Rowan in Glassboro. The mens game was big, because as Coach Cassidy said in a well done interview with the Rowan Radio guy, you have to win your home games to hope to compete in the NJAC due to the competitiveness of the conference. Great wins by both the NJCU men and women. The mens game was sloppy and poorly called for both sides but NJCU made the shots in the end and Rowan did not. That kid Byrnes for Rowan will really be something if they get some size inside and get an interior game going.

Remember, the full qualifying statement is "best games FOR WEBCASTING." If you've got better games to listen to, please share them.

I was going to suggest Stout, but couldn't confirm that it would be on WMEQ. He who doesn't post his broadcasting schedule (or, as seems to be popular, prefers to list last year's schedule), doesn't get listed...

If you were going to select a WIAC game, though you did specify the doubleheader, Eau Claire vs La Crosse isn't the one I'd pick.

I would select Platteville at Stout. You have last year's co-champion (and previously ranked) against the "chic" pick sleeper in Stout. At least Stout won their conference opener (Platteville beat Elmhurst)! :-)

Eau Claire, on the other hand, lost by 37 to Stout.

Denison at Wittenberg won't be close either. I'm quite sure that the Tigers have not forgotten last year's double OT loss, which cost them the conference title. They already got their revenge, beating the Big Red by 38 seven weeks later, but they won't let Denison sneak up on them again. Plus they will want to at least match the 36-point whuppin' that arch-rival Wooster laid on the Big Red.

Having been thumped twice in a row, Denison now faces Witt and then Akron, where they figure to get thumped some more. After that, they enter the very winnable section of their schedule. It will be interesting to see if their confidence survives this long week, allowing them to climb back into the race for third in the NCAC.

HSU Cowgirls defeated ETBU women last night, so we can get a relative comparison of HSU and McMurry Women from the ETBU women's game.

McM point guard Symbri Tuttle had 15 assists and 1 turnover to go with 13 points. McM's 2 starting posts, D3Team of the Week player Tarra Richardson and senior Carli Engelke, had 17 points. The good news was the 12 points off the bench by post Dee Dee Burton.

For the men, the ETBU-McMurry game will be very interesting. Now that Coach Vanlandingham has returned as an assistant, McMurry is implementing the uptempo style that Coaches Ron Holmes and Russ Vanlandingham used from 1998-2001. The strong guard corps for ETBU, especially the Isom's Cedric and Chris, should give us a high-scoring game with lots of intensity.

What is really building in the city of Abilene is the anticipation of the Monday, December 12th contests at McMurry vs. HSU. Even tho' school is out for the semester after next week, there should be a very good crowd for those games.

I think you're stretching it a little by calling Wheaton @ Hope and Illinois Wesleyan @ Chicago "some of the best games", unless you really are selling the webcasting end of it, Gordon. :) I don't think either game is going to be close.
