  1. Neil: There won’t be. Sorry.

As many people know, the weather forecast today for parts of the East Coast, including Salem, isn’t pretty. It’s already been raining (cold!) here since at least 3:30 a.m. The forecast says that will turn to snow later this morning.

  2. I see there’s no video feed Is anyone aware of an audio fed anywhere? The d3 Senior classic website is very very poorly maintained w/ little or no information. We have family playing in the game and would like to listen

    Thanks!

  3. South hands off to the WR, who throws a nice long pass down to the 2 yard line.

A couple plays later (with negative yardage), South’s QB goes for the sneak and the ball bounces out near the goal line. Touchback. North’s ball at the 20.

Very little creative offense so far today, but that’s to be expected among people who haven’t had much time to practice together. The first two drives of the game ended with interceptions.

  4. Just about at halftime. North has only one good sustained drive. South is doing better on offense overall, but the North’s D is adjusting really well in these last few minutes.

  5. Greensboro’s two players, Andreas Platt and Brandon Drumgoole, are having great days.

Olivet’s Alex hill scoops up a loose ball. Almost scores for the North. DeRon Brown finishes the drive and puts the North up 7-0.

Earlier, Dickinson’s Ian Mitchell (playing fo the North) got knocked way out of bounds into the pavement and bushes nearby. He’s helped off the field, but he beings walking under his own power. He came back in a couple of plays later.

  6. Game is wrapping up here in Salem — and the South did not rise again.

North leads it 14-0 with 41 seconds left. This was absolutely a day of defenses, with mutiple turnovers, including inside the red zone. I’m told there were NFL scouts in the stands.

Look for a wrapup of how this inaugural D3 all-star game went in my story to come out sometime early this coming week.

  7. hello all. my wife and i just got back from the game, our nephew played for the north team. with the exception of the weather we had a great experience. the game and the banquet were fantastic. it was a low scoring but exciting game with a lot of talent. we were told that game will be aired tomorrow on nbc roanoke and that highlights will be posted on the website.

  8. A North Shut-out! A tip of the cap to the Cortland Coaches. Dan MacNeill handled the Defensive Coordinator duties, along with 3 of his assistants today. Senior Defensive End Bryan Wiley was on the field for the North.

  9. Can anyone give me info on this game, who picked teams, any charge to play, who is in charge of this bowl game? where would I go for info?

  10. I guess us Left-coasters got left out this year. Well the NWC is always accustomed to the east coast bias…GO WILDCATS! One of four remaining in the Country…

  11. iheart: Linfield’s Scott Millenbach was invited to play, but he was a little busy this past weekend. I assume you wanted him playing against St. Thomas rather than in an all-star game, right? 🙂

No idea who else was invited, but the finances to fly from the west coast might have been more than the players had been willing to foot the bill for.

  12. Well the NWC is always accustomed to the east coast bias …

For what it’s worth, the co-founder of the event played for and graduated from a West Region school. Any East Coast bias seems unlikely.

Ditto what Pat said about finances. 😉

  13. I didn’t know it was self-financed…then again I don’t know if the aztec bowl was either. I just hoped for some representatation from a school that was from WA, OR, or CA…but we all know the cost of education these days…glad the boys had fun and maybe some day we get the aztec bowl back.

  14. The old Aztec Bowl was paid for by the AFCA, yes.

The “new Aztec Bowl” (aka the Tazon de Estrellas) is financed by the players, to the tune of … I think it was $1,200 per.
