Just looking at the national bracket…

    1) Getting 3 plane flights to Rhodes in the south makes no sense at all. The conspiracy theorists could look at that bracket and hear the voices saying,

“No, you don’t send Salsibury and/or Shenandoah to my bracket! You cough up the big bucks to send them to them to Mississippi River flood plain, and don’t ever put the south regional in western Tennessee again!”

    2) Buena Vista getting in a a real plus for the western half of the division. I was glad about that. I thought that BV had the credentials. I just wondered about the “east coast bias” factor that always seems to favor New England.

    3) CWRU is another plus. I thought that they did a good job. They were in my list of Pool C bids. I thought that Piedmont and Chapman should be the Pool Bs.

    4) Do we call this a down year for the LEC and the NESCAC?

    5) I am excited to see the West Regional play out the way that it will. The Region is so good, but so-o-o-o isolated, that no one else in the country knows how good the region is. UT-Tyler’s quirky schedule, and down seasons by McMurry and TLU, who are previous “regionally ranked teams” from recent seasons, kept UTT from playing a single Regionally ranked team. Trinity TX played only one game against a regionally ranked team, a 2-1 loss against HSU in San Antonio.
